Katrin Schütz is state secretary in the Ministry of the Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing.

Katrin Schütz was born on 20 March 1967 in Ettlingen and spent five years growing up in the USA. She obtained her secondary school leaving certificate in parallel to an apprenticeship in the skill of dressmaking. For several years, Schütz was the Managing Director of a medium-sized company and trained young people in commercial fields.

From 2006 to May 2016 she was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg and a member of the Finance and Economics Committee, Science Committee and chairperson of the Integration Committee. From 2014 to 2016 she was secretary general of the CDU in Baden-Württemberg.

From 2006 to May 2016 she was a member of the supervisory board of Karlshochschule gGmbH and also a member of the advisory board of the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe.

On 12 May 2016 Katrin Schütz was appointed state secretary in the Ministry of the Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Katrin Schütz has two sons.
