Dr. Florian Stegmann is state secretary and Head of the State Chancellery.
He oversees the administration of the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg, prepares political issues for the cabinet at the level of the heads of departments within the Ministry, chairs the pre-conferences and plans for the cabinet.
Dr. Stegmann was born on 1st January 1971 in Frankfurt am Main. He studied law in Constance and subsequently did a doctorate on environmental criminal law. He completed his legal training in 2002.
After working as a lawyer in Stuttgart, he joined the judicial service of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg in 2005. He has worked for the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg in various capacities since 2011, most recently as Head of Department I. In October 2018 he became state secretary and Head of the State Chancellery of Baden-Württemberg.
Dr. Stegmann is married and has two children.
